We collect a minimum of data: the programs have no telemetry, analytics, advertising or user accounts.
Program settings (the %AppData%\BinaryAXE folder), the HexEdit+ patch and mark libraries (C:\HexEdit by default or a folder you choose), edit logs next to the files and the trial period record (data folder and Windows registry) are stored locally and are not sent anywhere.
Once a day the programs request a file describing the latest version from the server download.binaryaxe.com. As with any internet request, your IP address and the program version are sent to the server. This data is used only technically (file delivery, standard logs of the Cloudflare, Inc. infrastructure) and is not linked to your identity. The check can be turned off: “Help → Check for updates automatically”.
To obtain a license you save a request file that contains: the e-mail address you entered, an anonymized hardware fingerprint (cryptographic hashes of identifiers of several computer components, including the motherboard — the original information cannot be recovered from them), the program version and the date. You send the file to us yourself (for example, by e-mail). The license file you receive contains the same data plus your name (if provided), the license number and the issue date; it is stored on your computer.
To support customers and prevent abuse we keep a log of issued licenses: date, license number, e-mail, name (if provided), copies of the issued license files (with the hardware fingerprint). Retention: while the license is valid and a reasonable period afterwards (record keeping and support).
Payments are processed by a payment service or reseller; its privacy policy is available at checkout. We do not receive or store bank card data. From the payment service we receive what is needed to issue the license (e-mail, payment confirmation).
Support e-mails are kept as ordinary correspondence and used only to reply and keep a history of requests.
Data is not sold or shared with third parties, except for the technical contractors listed above (update delivery infrastructure, payment service) and cases required by law.
You may request information about your data, its correction or deletion by writing to info@hexeditplus.com. Deleting your e-mail from the license records will prevent us from confirming your purchase (license reissue, support).
If online activation (a license server) is introduced, this policy will be extended with a description of the related data. The current version is published at https://hexeditplus.com.
